Bedford Rotary Welcomes Children’s Scholarship Fund

BEDFORD, NH – The Bedford NH Rotary Club welcomed Kate Baker Demers, Executive Director, and Alison Mueller, Director of Tax Credit Development, both from the Children’s Scholarship Fund New Hampshire (CSF-NH). Together, they told club members how low- and moderate-income New Hampshire children benefit from grants made available to families to support their children’s K-12 education, as well as how donors can benefit on their taxes.

Children face a multitude of challenges when it comes to education, including learning challenges, bullying, and more. Kate Demers said, “Families sometimes need a bridge, a small amount of assistance, for their kids to be able to realize their dreams. Grants are approved for tuition at the school of the parents’ choice, tutoring, classes, online learning programs, educational supplies, technology and other educational expenses.”

With the help of Education Freedom Accounts in New Hampshire, along with business and individual contributions, CSF-NH will help more than 12,500 children this year. The organization uses only about 7 percent of its funds for administrative and operating costs.

Alison Mueller, in her role as Director of Tax Credit Development, gave Rotary Club members information on how the NH Education Tax Credit Program gives New Hampshire businesses a tax credit when they donate to scholarships for children in need. Beginning in January 2027, donors can also take advantage of a federal scholarship tax credit of up to $1,700.

Bedford NH Rotary Club members were excited to hear the presentation and asked many questions about the wonderful work being done by the Children’s Scholarship Fund to help children in New Hampshire turn their educational dreams into reality.

Bedford NH Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. at New Hope Christian Fellowship, 445 State Route 101, Bedford, NH 03110. For more information about Bedford Rotary, visit BedfordNHRotary.com or follow BedfordNHRotary on Facebook.
