A Fall Message from DG Ruth
Hey, District 7870 Members!
As the weather changes, I want to wish you all a happy and productive fall. So far, I have managed to get to about half of the clubs in the District. If you are part of a club I have visited, thank you for your hospitality. If you are in a club I have not yet visited, I’m headed your way soon! If you happen to be in a club that has not yet been scheduled, please get in touch with me and let’s get it on the calendar. I look forward to getting to know all of you as I travel around.
There are several important upcoming dates:
September 23 – Membership Training via Zoom
Rotary International has reworked the prospective member referral system. IPDG Donna will be leading a Zoom seminar to explain how the new system works. We are hoping your club president and membership chairs will be able to attend, along with any other interested members.
September 28 – District Golf Tournament
Newport Golf Club in Newport, NH, with a shotgun start at 1:00 p.m. See the registration link for more information. Please sign up so we can get a final count to the course. You can register by clicking here
November 18 – Foundation Month Zoom
More details to come.
March 13–14 – District-Wide Food Drive
Each club will conduct its own food drive and donate to its local food shelf, but we’ll all do it on the same weekend. Sixty-four clubs doing the same thing on the same weekend should generate some publicity and have a productive result!
Also, don’t forget that we are looking to start up a Cornhole Tournament. Let me know if your club is interested in participating so we can begin figuring out regional semifinals and set aside some time for the finals at District Conference.
I wish you all a beautiful fall and great success as you embark on your various endeavors. Keep me in the loop on your activities—you just never know where I might pop up next!
