Windham Rotary Club Celebrates Community and Service
The Windham Rotary Club has been busy celebrating community while continuing its commitment to service.
On June 28, several club members participated in Windham's 250th Anniversary Celebration by hosting a children's activity tent, where young visitors enjoyed decorating patriotic paper hats and choosing patriotic stickers. Later that day, Club President Michael Lucci attended the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Indian Rock Park. The park, made possible through the generosity of the Letizio family and several other Windham families, was dedicated by local businessman Al Letizio Jr., with New Hampshire Governor Kelly Ayotte serving as the keynote speaker.
In early July, the club was honored to be invited to become a regular partner with the Sonshine Soup Kitchen in Derry, New Hampshire. Having previously volunteered on an as-needed basis, Windham Rotary will now prepare and serve meals on the third Wednesday of every other month, further strengthening its commitment to serving neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
Looking ahead, the club is actively planning a special celebration, tentatively scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, to commemorate the awarding of the Windham Rotary Club's charter and celebrate the beginning of its journey of Service Above Self in the Windham community.
