A Message from District Governor Ruth Clough

Hello, District 7870 Rotarians!

By now, those of you serving in new Rotary leadership positions have hopefully settled into your roles. I hope the new Rotary year is off to a great start!

It has certainly been a busy one for me. I've already completed 12 of my 64 club visits, and I have enjoyed every one of them. If I haven't visited your club yet, don't worry—I'm on my way! If your visit hasn't been scheduled, please reach out so we can get it on the calendar.

I'd also like to remind clubs to update your current officers and club information in ClubRunner if you haven't already. Having accurate contact information ensures that district communications reach the right people instead of last year's officers.

As your clubs plan service projects, fundraisers, and special events, please remember to share them with District Governor Nominee Diane McCormick at district7870@gmail.com. We'd love to feature your activities in the District 7870 Bulletin and help spread the word across the district.

Our district is also looking for volunteers to serve on several important committees, particularly Membership and Public Image/Public Relations. If either of these areas interests you, we'd love to have your help as we continue building a stronger, more vibrant district.

Upcoming District Events

  • September 23Membership Zoom Meeting
Everyone is welcome! PDG Donna Deos will share membership ideas, discuss the new Membership Committee initiatives, and offer strategies for attracting new members while retaining current ones.
  • September 28District Golf Tournament
Newport Golf Club – Newport, NH
I've heard they've made some wonderful improvements to the course—let's go check it out together!
  • November 18District Foundation Zoom
Learn more about The Rotary Foundation, how it works, and the incredible impact it has around the world. All Rotarians are welcome.
  • March 13District Food Drive
I'll be sharing more details as I continue my club visits.

We're also exploring the possibility of holding a District Cornhole Tournament! The idea is to have regional competitions throughout the district leading to a championship event, with proceeds benefiting charity. If your club would be interested in entering a team, please let us know.

I hope you're all enjoying a wonderful summer, and I look forward to seeing many of you during my club visits and at district events throughout the year. As always, if you invite me, I'll do my best to be there!

See you soon,

Ruth Clough
