We are very saddened to report that Constance M. (Connie) Powers, 85, wife of Past District Governor Pete Powers, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 24th.
Although not a Rotarian, Connie loved participating and supporting husband Pete in various Rotary events and activities. Here is a small sampling:
- helped out on many Hopkinton Rotary Highway Clean Up projects
- prepared a delicious corn chowder for many Pre-PETS meetings in Bow and Hopkinton
- assisted with registration at several PETS conferences
- accompanied Pete on his official visits to all 60 Rotary clubs during his term as DG in 2002-2003
- attended 19 district conferences
- served as an usher at 14 district conference memorial services
- attended 5 RI International Conferences
A memorial service celebrating Connie's life will be held at the First Congregational church of Hopkinton, UCC on Saturday, July 13th at 11:00am.
