Hello Rotarians. DG Ruth here. By now all of you should have been inducted into your new positions. As you assume your various roles, whether as an officer, director or outstanding member of your club,  please keep in mind that in addition to working for the benefit of our various communities, there is a  real need to make sure you all have fun and fellowship as you “Create Lasting Impact”. Rotary was  founded with the goal in mind to do good by working with and enjoying the company of fellow  rotarians.

This year one of my goals is to encourage clubs to work together with other clubs, whether they are  Rotary Clubs or other service organizations, to achieve things they could not necessarily do on their  own. Many of our clubs are smaller than they used to be and don’t have enough members to be able to  do some of the projects they used to be able to accomplish. Join together with another club. They help your club with your projects and you help them with theirs.

Another important activity for this year could be to consider doing a club survey. Find out what your  club is doing that may have run its course. What kinds of things do your members want to try doing  that has not been on your activity list, a new service project, a new social activity. You may have a  budding mini golf Arnold Palmer you don’t know about. (Am I showing my age by knowing Arnold  Palmer?)  Your Club can use one created by RI by clicking here.

As you most likely have heard, there has been a change in our newsletter. If you wish to submit an  article, it is district7870@gmail.com. We want to hear from all of you as to what you are doing and how it  is going.

I hope all of you have a great year and come conference time, we can all sit back and brag about what  we accomplished to “Create Lasting Impact”
